Sylvain Allaire
Sylvain Allaire, MPA, CHRP– VP Sales and Marketing. Sylvain brings over 30 years of leadership and management experience acquired in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. His public career saw him achieve the rank of Commander and the command of two warships.
Sylvain holds a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University, a Bachelor of Military Art Sciences from Royal Military College, a Master of Public Administration from Dalhousie University and he is a graduate of the Canadian Forces Command and Staff course. Sylvain holds the national human resources designation of Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP).
Within the Navy, he has held numerous staff positions of increasing complexities and responsibilities. He managed the Navy’s individual training program; which consisted of over 1100 qualifications. He was the secretary to the Deputy Minister of National Defence responsible for Human Resources and accountability issues. Upon retirement from the Navy, he became Director of Operations for the largest security firm in Nova Scotia; where he managed a staff of 1600 guards.
Sylvain is well-versed with the volunteer sector. He served as president of the Dartmouth United Soccer Club and Vice-president of the Harbour East District Soccer Association. He currently serves as Director on the Board of Soccer Nova Scotia, Director on the Board of the Soccer Training Center Nova Scotia, and several committees of Soccer Nova Scotia. He was a key member of the SNS Indoor Facility Acquisition committee which acquired a full-size indoor soccer facility at Halifax Mainland North. He has delivered the Junior Achievement program to grade nine students in both official languages and he also served on the on the board of Directors of Junior Achievement Nova Scotia. Sylvain is the President of the Chambre de commerce francophone de Halifax.
Sylvain is a member of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada and of the Human Resources Association of Nova Scotia.
