Sylvain Allaire, MPA – Managing Partner.  Sylvain brings over 30 years of leadership and management experience acquired in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. His public career saw him achieve the rank of Commander and the command of two warships.    

Sylvain holds a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University, a Bachelor of Military Art Sciences from Royal Military College, a Master of Public Administration from Dalhousie University and he is a graduate of the Canadian Forces Command and Staff course.  Sylvain holds the national human resources designation of Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP).     

Within the Navy, he has held numerous staff positions of increasing complexities and responsibilities. He managed the Navy’s individual training program; which consisted of over 1100 qualifications. He was the secretary to the Deputy Minister of National Defence responsible for Human Resources and accountability issues. Upon retirement from the Navy, he became Director of Operations for the largest security firm in Nova Scotia; where he managed a staff of 1600 guards.    

Sylvain is well-versed with the volunteer sector. He served as president of the Dartmouth United Soccer Club and Vice-president of the Harbour East District Soccer Association.  He currently serves as Director on the Board of Soccer Nova Scotia, Director on the Board of the Soccer Training Center Nova Scotia, and he sits on the Soccer Nova Scotia Indoor Facility Acquisition committee.  He has delivered the Junior Achievement program to grade nine students in both official languages and he recently accepted a position on the board of Directors of Junior Achievement Nova Scotia.  Sylvain is the Vice-president of the Chambre de commerce francophone de Halifax.

Tanya Sieliakus– Managing Partner. Tanya has been referred to as one of the most technically astute and competent human resources management practitioners in the Atlantic area. She is unique insofar as she has extensive experience in all functional areas of human resources management. Tanya has worked within a wide range of industries (including municipal government, sales, mining, manufacturing, contact centre, services, security, head hunting, IT and consulting) and is valued for the eclectic approach she has developed around problem solving.    

Tanya has a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University and a Masters’ Diploma in Human Resources Management from the Nova Scotia Community College. In 2000, Tanya was certified as a Diversity Trainer. She has delivered diversity training to more than 1000 participants in five countries.    

Tanya obtained her national human resources designation, the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) certification in 2001. Tanya has won a number of awards including: the national John T. Ryan Safety Award (for two consecutive years), the ACCESS Nova Scotia award for creating an environment of inclusion, and the USG Award of Excellence.    

Tanya is a current member of the Human Resources Association of Nova Scotia and has served as its Vice President and a member of the Professional Development and Sponsorship Committees. Tanya is past Secretary of the Security Action Council, Royal United Services Institute. She is recognized as a “Life Long Learner” and advocate and has deliberated on Nova Scotia Community College and Nova Knowledge panels. Dr Wayne Adams

Dr Wayne Adams – Senior Consultant.  Wayne Adams is recognized as one of Nova Scotia’s more prominent, well-respected and influential Citizens.  An entrepreneur/ businessman, broadcast journalist, politician, an environmental activist, he was raised and educated in Halifax. Dr. Adams has worked tirelessly in the Halifax-Dartmouth communities for over 40 years leading and participating in several socio-economic policy developments, sport-events, environment focus groups, industry trade missions.  He has represented Nova Scotia on the national and international scenes.    

He is Vice-President of CaribREGEN International, a Nova Scotia based company exploring renewable energy systems in Barbados and throughout the Caribbean.  He is a Director of the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation, The Halifax Foundation, the N.S. Hearing and Speech Foundation, and the “N.S. Bravery Awards” Advisory Council.  His extensive and diverse commitments earned him the National-Harry Jerome Award for Leadership; The Rotary Club International 4-Way Test-Award; The B’nai B’rith Canadian Radio Award for excellence in Human Rights Broadcasting. The Dartmouth J.C.’s presented Wayne with an “Outstanding Young Citizen-Award”; just to name a few.  He is the Past Charter President of Chebucto Windfields Inc., and is a Past President of the Nova Scotia Environmental Industries Association.    

Politically, he has represented constituents at two levels of government, provincially proclaiming what became a world-renowned solid waste reduction and management system in Nova Scotia. Municipally, he helped engineer a Canadian initiative in Rural Community Renewal.  In 1979 he was elected to the first of five terms as Municipal Councillor in Halifax County, and also served as Deputy Warden.  During his time as a municipal leader, Mr. Adams served two terms on the School Board.   In 1993, he become the first elected black person in History to the Legislature of Nova Scotia, and the first Black Cabinet Minister.  Under his direction, Nova Scotia experienced its most sustained period of environmental growth since the creation of the Department of the Environment in 1973.  He introduced the first comprehensive Solid Waste Management Strategy in Canada designed to reduce the amount of solid waste in Nova Scotia by more than 50% within two years; while creating a new stream of waste resource-based industries, forming the Nova Scotia environmental industries sector that experienced a growth rate that exceeded 250%.  Dr. Adams as Minister responsible for the Emergency Measures Organization, introduced the establishment of Canada’s firstprovince-wide integrated’ 911-emergency response system.    

 In 2003, Wayne Adams received an Honorary Doctorate of Civil Laws Degree from St.  Mary’s University and he was made a Member of the Order of Canada.    

A Chartered Consultant with the American Consultants League, Dr. Adams was named Person of the Year 2004, by the Halifax Chamber of Commerce.    

Marlene Keith – Project Consultant. Prior to joining HR pros, Marlene worked for 25 years in various advisory and leadership roles. She has related to a broad range of occupations and levels of employment within diverse industries (including insurance, financial, pharmaceutical, sales, manufacturing, contact centre and food service).    

Marlene’s focus over the past 7 years has been to establish and provide a commitment to excellence in the field of Human Resources. As a Human Resource Generalist, Marlene has experience in all functional areas of human resources and her compassionate connection allows her to quickly and effectively respond to her clients needs.  She has designed and delivered various training programs on a variety of topics (including orientations, recruiting, diversity, ethics, violence and harassment and benefits).    

Marlene has been an active volunteer in many organizations within her community and has served on various committees and boards including the Boys & Girls Club and the Home and School Association. She received recognition from the United Way for outstanding Employee Campaign Coordinator for two consecutive years which resulted with her employer receiving  the Award for Best Overall Corporate Campaign (1 to 50 employees).    

Marlene holds a Human Resource Management diploma, is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) and is a current member of the Human Resources Association of New Brunswick.
